# Roles & Invites

> Add people to your workspace and control what they can do.

Manage everyone in your organisation from **Settings → Members**.

## Roles

| Role | Can do | Counts against seats? |
| ------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------- |
| **Org Admin** | Everything, plus members, billing and SSO | Yes |
| **Editor** | Configure the system, run reports, use AI heavily | Yes |
| **Light** | Report issues, use the contractor portal, view their own lease and assigned compliance | **No — free and unlimited** |

<Note>
  Editor and admin seats are capped by your tier (5 / 25 / unlimited). Light users — contractors, tenants, viewers — are never gated by a seat count.
</Note>

## Invite a Member

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Settings → Members">
    Click **Send Invite**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter their email and role">
    Choose **Editor**, **Light** or **Admin**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="They accept">
    They receive an email with a one-time link. Clicking it creates their account and adds them to your organisation — no password to set.
  </Step>
</Steps>

A pending invite shows under **Pending Invitations** until accepted; you can cancel it any time.

## Change a Role or Remove Someone

On any member row, an admin can change the role or remove the person. Proprietas won't let you remove or demote the **last active Org Admin** — there's always at least one signer. Removed members are suspended (kept for the audit trail), not hard-deleted.

## Single Sign-on

On Professional and above you can let people sign in with your identity provider instead of email links. See [Single sign-on](/members/single-sign-on) and [Access requests](/members/access-requests).
